About Lakey

Lakey Boyd brings decades of experience to the Columbia Association. Using a high energy approach, Lakey employs operations that guide positive community change. Her commitment to finding innovative means to achieve an equitable and inclusive community align with the values of both Columbia Association and the Community Action Council of Howard County.

HUMANITARIAN AWARDEE – Kathleen Koch

We are excited to announce that Kathleen Koch  is the 2021 recipient of the Humanitarian Award.

About Kathleen

As Chair of the Howard County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), Kathleen has played a pivotal role in bringing together our community’s nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, as well as our local businesses to address the unprecedented needs of Howard County residents in the face of the devastating personal and economic effects of COVID-19. In her role, Kathleen consistently and continuously heard the voice of the voiceless. Through her support of organizations like the Community Action Council of Howard County, and specifically the Howard County Food Bank, she created collaborative opportunities and has directly and indirectly improved the quality of life for tens of thousands of Howard County residents.

About Neighbor Ride

Throughout the pandemic, the staff and volunteers of Neighbor Ride selflessly played a critical role to address the unprecedented needs of Howard County residents in the face of the devastating personal and economic effects of COVID-19. Neighbor Ride’s staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that hundreds of Howard County residents had consistent access to nutritious food and maintained reliable transportation to critical appointments. Neighbor Ride has always been a crucial nonprofit for this community and throughout the pandemic, Neighbor Ride went above and beyond to serve. Neighbor Ride’s dedication over the last year and a half has benefited the health and wellbeing of our residents and has strengthened the Howard County community.
