What is Weatherization?

Weatherization is all about improving the health, safety, and efficiency of your home. Our weatherization services includes:

What is Maryland’s Weatherization Assistance Program?

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is a federal residential energy conservation program. In Maryland, the state’s Department of Housing and Community Development runs it. But the state doesn’t schedule or complete the actual upgrades. That work is done by local agencies across Maryland.

CAC is one of those agencies. We serve homeowners and renters in Howard County and across the state. When you apply through CAC, you’re participating in Maryland’s WAP, at no cost to you.

Weatherization Services Are Provided at No Cost for Qualified Homeowners and Renters

Income-qualified homeowners and renters can participate in CAC’s home weatherization assistance programs. Our programs are no-cost because of funding from federal, state, and local utility grants. Participants don’t have to pay a penny! Many people in Maryland could use this help, but they don’t know that they qualify.

CAC’s Weatherization Assistance Eligibility

To see if you can get weatherization assistance, you need to check if you meet the program’s income levels. The eligibility levels are different from our other assistance programs, so even if you don’t qualify for those programs, you still may be able to take advantage of this one. Below are the yearly maximum income levels to participate, depending on the number of people in your household:

1 Person Households: $68,500

2 Person Households: $78,250

3 Person Households: $88,050

4 Person Households: $97,800

5 Person Households: $105,650
