CLIMATE FORWARD HOMES

 

Climate Forward Homes through CAC eliminates fossil fuel energy in your home, reducing energy bills, improving home efficiency, and helps to make a more healthy and sustainable home. This newly funded grant aims to help the environment by helping our community, making for a cleaner and safer home for us all!

Electrification services may include…

  • Installation of electric heat pump
  • Replacing oil/gas powered appliances such as stoves, dryers, etc.
  • Removal of oil tank
  • Upgrade of electrical service

The Benefits of Electrification

Electric heat pumps can be up to 3x more efficient than furnaces and often use about 50% less energy than oil furnaces, saving up to half your energy costs or around 800-1000$ a year. Electrification installations do more than just save you money, other benefits include:

  • Reduced emissions
  • Improved public health
  • Eliminates risk of carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Reduced economic risk associated with fossil fuel price
  • Improved temperature control

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the no cost Electrification services from our new Climate Forward Homes program at CAC you must:

How to Apply Online for CAC’s Weatherization Assistance Programs

  1. Fill out our online intake form.
  2. Some qualified applicants will still need to fill out a full application. Others can move directly to scheduling an energy assessment of their home!
  3. As part of your assessment, you’ll receive our recommendations for weatherization work on your home, including electrification. Then we work with trusted local partners to schedule the home upgrades, at no cost to you!
